Killings in Karachi: Prime Minister seeks report from Sindh government

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani asked for a report from the Sindh government on the recent incidents of killing in Karachi and on the situation arising out of these incidents.
He was talking to the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah over telephone to inquire about the developments being reported by the media. Later, he also talked to Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul- Ebad and asked him to co-ordinate with the Chief Minister to help defuse the situation. The Chief Minister Sindh while briefing the Prime Minister on the developments, informed him that the situation is under control and he has called a special meeting on law and order on February 4 to resolve the issues.
The Prime Minister told the Chief Minister that he would take a tour of Sindh on February 7 and meet the MPAs of the Sindh Assembly as well as leaders and organisation committee of PPP Sindh in order to settle issues causing disturbances. The Prime Minister also asked the Chief Minister that the contract employees of water courses be regularised on permanent basis.
