Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has appealed to the Islamic movements all-over the world to raise their voice in support of the oppressed Kashmiris and observe Kashmir Solidarity day on February 5 in their respective countries.
In a letter addressing to the chief of Ikhwanul Muslimoon, Hizbullah Secretary General, Hamas chief besides Islamic movement leaders in Asian, African and European countries, the JI chief said that the Kashmiri Muslims are being denied right to self-determination despite UN resolutions on this score for the only reason that they are Muslims.
He said the right to self-determination was recognised world-wide and the UN had given an assurance with New Delhi's consent that the Kashmiri's would be given the right to decide whether to join with India or Pakistan. The Kashmiris started armed resistance in 1989 after waiting for plebiscite for years in vain and then took to armed resistance in 1989 after their peaceful efforts in this direction had failed, he added.
Over 0.7 million India troops deployed in Held Kashmir have been carrying out Kashmiris' genocide and have killed nearly hundred thousand Kashmiri men, women and children during the last two decades while Israel, the Zionist state, was extending all-out support to India. He said that several Israeli army officials are serving in Held Kashmir shoulder to shoulder with Indian officials while the co-operation between the two states in defence, intelligence, economic and cultural fields is no more a secret.
He said that the people of Pakistan and different sections of the Kashmiris have been observing 5th of February as Kashmir Solidarity Day for many years against tyranny and oppression. The letter of the JI chief has also been sent to the Islamic movement leaders in Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Yemen, Sudan, Kuwait, Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, Senegal, Bangladesh, Nepal, and different European countries.
