Pakistan cricket team suffered one of the most humiliating defeats in Test cricket, after Sarfraz’s men gifted away what could have been an easy win to Sri Lanka on Monday.
Pakistan head coach, Mickey Arthur was naturally not pleased with the host performance and said that the batting line need to step up the game and have to adjust according to the condition.
“Look, it is a trend and I can’t sit here and say that our batting line up is a young line up because this is international cricket. You got to catch your teeth in international cricket and any expectation when you are in a Test match,” said Arthur, at the post-match press conference, quoted PakPassion.net.
Arthur added that he is disappointed with the batsmen and will work out with them to identify the issues.
“It’s disappointing. Call it pressure, I’m not sure and that’s something which we will sit down, discuss and dissect going forward,” said Arthur.
With the series 1-0 in favour of Sri Lanka, Pakistan would likely try to learn from their mistake as they look to draw the series by winning the second Test at Abu Dhabi on 16th October.
