The oath-taking ceremony of Punjab University Library & Information Science Alumni Association (PULISAA) held Tuesday at the Punjab University Library's Auditorium. Dr Mumtaz Ali Anwar (HEC Foreign Professor of Library & Information Science) was the chief guest. President PULISAA Muhammad Shafiq Rana in his address thanked the participants and highlighted the importance of alumni associations.
He also presented future plans for the professional development of LIS community through this platform. The oath-taking ceremony was followed by a seminar on "Emerging Challenges for Professional Competence". Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest said that the Library Science education was first started in PU in 1915 which was the first class in South Asia and the second class after Britain's. Dr Abdus Sattar Chaudhry & Dr Sajjad-ur-Rehman also shared their experiences and knowledge with the participants, on these moments.-PR
