Pesco detects 80 cases of power theft in Lala

Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) detected 80 power theft cases in the Sub-Division of Lala and removed direct hooks. FIR was lodged in the local Police Station against the electricity stealers.
Pesco's checking teams at Lala Sub Division raided and checked areas attached with Wadpagah Feeder including Kalo Khel, Wadpagah, Kala Kali, Ranu Garhi and other adjacent areas and about 80 consumers were caught red-handed for illegal use of electricity through direct hooks.
FIRs, against these consumers involved in power pilferage, have been registered in the respective Police Station. The drive against power pilferage was launched on the directives of Chief Executive Pesco Mohammad Qasim Khan who directed the concerned officials for taking all possible measures to curb the illegal practice.
On this, Manager Operation Peshawar Circle Said Ghaffar directed to implement these instructions in letter and spirit and root out the power pilferage so that the line losses could be controlled. Meanwhile, the authorities of Pesco have said that the drive against illegal use of electricity will continue and once again warned the electricity stealers to stop power pilferage due to which Pesco has to face huge line losses on one hand and on the other, Pesco's whole distribution system gets overloaded, and the general public faces inconvenience of frequent power breakdowns.
