Railways police demand CCTV cameras, deployment in trains

Pakistan Railways (PR) police has demanded the government to install Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and depute law enforcers in trains to avert any possible terrorist attack. SSP PR Police Sindh Muzaffar Sheikh said there are total 1,300 force of PR Police and officials in Karachi Division, which is not sufficient to counter any possible terrorist attack in trains or railway stations of the city.
He informed that PR Police had foiled a bid of arms smuggling through trains and arrested one person from Landhi Railway Station. Police recovered huge arms and ammunitions from his possession. "The arrested person was member of inter-provincial arms smuggling group and had been tasked to supply arms and ammunition in areas of the city," the SSP disclosed. He further said the arrested person was identified as Sher Altaf and had arrived from Khanewal to supply arms to terrorist groups.
