Ahead of Kashmiri Solidarity Day, Indian troops in occupied Kashmir Thursday martyred 6 innocent Kashmiri youths while imposing curfew amid fierce clashes between the protestors and the Indian police personnel. Of those martyred, 5 youth were shot dead in Kishtwar and one in Mendhar, KMS reported.
Meanwhile, the occupation forces confined the APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to his residence in Srinagar and arrested senior Hurriyet leaders Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Firdous Ahmad Shah, lodging them in Kathua jail outside the Kashmir valley. The leaders were booked under the draconian law Public Safety Act. The police also raided the house of JKLF-R leader, Javed Ahmad Mir to arrest him.
Defying the curfew orders, the people took to the streets in Srinagar, Sopore, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipore, Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam areas. They were protesting against the killing of a 13-year old boy by Indian police on Sunday. Several persons were injured in the clashes between the protestors and the troops. Life remained paralysed all across the occupied territory following the incidents.
