Islamabad Police arrested eleven suspects and recovered arms, ammunition and contraband from their possession, sources said here on Thursday. Islamabad Police in league with other law enforcement agencies held search operation in different parts of the capital territory particularly in rural areas, police sources said.
Adding that during the search operation 11 suspected persons, mostly Afghan nationals, were arrested and arms, ammunition and contraband were recovered during the operation. They said that law enforcers have recovered one AK-47 assault rifle, four pistols, ammunition and two kilogram charas from the possession of the detained suspects, besides Rs 25,000 cash.
Mostly detained persons are Afghan nationals who were residing illegally in the capital, sources said, adding that Afghan nationals living illegally have already been warned to leave the capital. The detained persons are being questioned to know if they are involved in any terrorist activities, sources said.
