US sugar falls

Raw sugar futures finished at a three-week low Thursday on investor liquidation, a resurgent dollar and switch business, but analysts were not certain the rally was over or could reignite again. March raw sugar contract dropped 0.94 cent, or by 3.29 percent, to settle at 27.64 cents per lb. It was the lowest close for sugar on the spot daily charts since January 15.
Range 28.54 to 27.58 cents, lowest on spot intra-day charts since mid-January. Since trading at a 29-year top of 30.40 cents on Monday, the fall to the session low of 27.58 cents represented a loss in value of 9.27 percent. March volume 70,841 lots at 1:46 pm EST (1846 GMT).
