06 Feb, 2010

Summaries of the ICE Futures US cocoa, coffee and sugar markets early on Friday. March arabica coffee contract fell 0.35 cent to $1.3120 per lb at 11:06 am EST (1606 GMT). Session range from $1.3050 to $1.3185. Arabica coffee moved lower in narrow but choppy dealings, feeling the weight of the strong dollar and lower commodity complex, said brokers.
March raw sugar contract slipped 0.35 cent to 27.29 cents per lb at 11:06 am. Trading range from 27.15 to 28.05 cents. Sugar reversed field and declined on investor sales after failing to hold above 28 cents in the March contract, said dealers. Benchmark May cocoa contract dropped $31 to $3,094 per tonne at 11:07 am. Trading range from $3,085 to $3,133. Dipped on March/May spreading pressured by the weak pound against the dollar and technical picture, said traders.
