Apart from foreign secretary-level dialogues, India has proposed additional dialogues to Pakistan for the solution of regional issues, claims India media. According to private TV channel, the additional talks will mainly focus terrorism and regional security while the measures for confidence building and strengthening of bilateral trade will also be discussed.
The proposed talks likely to be held either on February 18 or February 25 and has indicated that it is ready to discuss all bilateral issues of concern. The decision to start foreign secretary-level talks signal a thaw in bilateral ties and is a reflection of India's desire to keep "channels of communication open" with its neighbour.
However, Indian proposal to have Foreign Secretary-level talks with Pakistan is a calculated initiative to "unlock" the dialogue process and convey directly its immediate concerns, an Indian news agency said.
