Police arrest Taluka Nazim Kunri

The Samaro police arrested Taluka Nazim Kunri, district Umerkot, Jam Memon on charges of setting houses on fire, attempting murder and kidnapping during an alleged grabbing of agricultural land. Report received here said that heavy contingents of Samaro police conducted raid at a marriage ceremony of a local journalist's brother in Umerkot and arrested Jam Memon.
Jam Memon is also a leader of PML- Q and was very close to former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim. Police said that Jam Memon was arrested on the basis of an FIR, which was lodged by Muhammad Ali, son of Qaim Banglani, under Section 324, 365, 436, 427 and 34 against him, his son Abdul Haq, Sattar Chandio and an unknown person.
According to police the complainant lodging FIR had maintained that accused Jam Memon along with the other nominated accused had come to village Bachal Banglani, Deh Khenjo and tried to occupy the agricultural land measuring about 175 acres and set on fire the houses of peasants. The accused also resorted to direct firing on the complainant and his farmers and also kidnapped a peasant. On the other hand, Dost Muhammad Memon, son of Jam Memon maintained that his father was arrested by police on fake and fabricated charges.
