Vice President, Sindh Abadgar Board (SAB), Mirpurkhas chapter Haji Abdul Ghafoor Maher advocate has strongly criticised the Irrigation authorities for releasing water in Mithrao Canal only for drinking purpose, as a result wheat and other crops cultivated on hundreds of thousands of acres of land would be destroyed.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that there was an acute need of irrigation water for wheat and other crops at this time, as the crops were already deprived of water for the last one and a half months, because the Nara canal was closed for annual desiltng and repair.
He demanded of the quarters concerned to ensure adequate supply of irrigation water in Nara Canal and also ensure proper supply of irrigation water upto tail-end abadgar and terminate the rotation programme.
