Rs 18.50 billion being spent on health projects

Punjab government is spending Rs 18.50 billion on different health projects aimed at ensuring maximum treatment facilities to the masses at their doorstep. Under the programme Rs 12 billion were being spent on setting up ultra modern emergency wards in ten district headquarters of the Punjab.
Under the programme medical facilities and CT Scan and MRI services would be made available in these emergency wards while the patients would also be able to get diagnostic facilities under one roof.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that the step was being taken for mitigating the travelling problems confronted by the patients as well as to ensure standard treatment facilities their doorstep.
Out this fund Rs 6.50 billion were being spent on the provision of free health cover to the masses at tehsil level across the Province.
Under the programme improved and modern health facilities would be ensured at tehsil level to facilitate the masses in their respective areas sources added.
