Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Monday launched a collection of poetry, thoughts and teachings of renowned Sindhi poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. The launching ceremony of the academic and cultural research of noted mystic poet was organised by the Institute of Educational Technology in collaboration with Department of Pakistani Languages and Literature, AIOU.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor AIOU Dr Mahmood ul Hassan Butt said, "there was a need to introduce the work of such great personalities to the young generation for boosting their knowledge and guide them," He lauded the efforts of Department of Pakistani Languages and Literature for preparing the research publications of noted mystic poets and documentaries on their lives.
The speakers included Rector International Islamic University (IIU), Professor Fateh Mohammed Malik, Chairman National Language Authority, Iftikhar Arif, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences (AIOU), Professor Dr Abdul Hafeez and others from various departments of AIOU.
