District Co-ordination Officer Peshawar, Siraj Ahmad on Tuesday constituted two separate sub-committees to carry out assessment of houses, shops and goods destroyed in 48 bomb blasts in the provincial metropolis for giving financial assistance to the traders.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the newly appointed DCO with a delegation of traders here in the conference room of the city district government. The two separate committees will carry out assessment of losses in both urban and rural areas of the district. The DCO directed the members of the committee to work with honesty in the assessment so that the right of non-affected person would be usurped.
He nominated senior vice president of Anjuman-e-Tajiran, Peshawar as chairman of the sub-committee for urban areas while members would be included TOI, Town-I, Zubair Ahmad Durrani, SDO C&W Mohammad Naeem, SDO C&W, Suhail, HVC revenue, Arshad. Similarly, sub-committee for rural areas would be headed by DOR, Peshawar, Atta-ur-Rehman, SDO C&W Arif, SDO C&W Mohammad Shah while other members are tehsildar Peshawar, Patwari and town officers of the town-II and Town-IV respectively.
The DCO Peshawar said, "We consider losses, incurred in the bomb blasts in Peshawar as loss of the national assets and we are making preparation to extend relief to the affected people." He directed both committees that the surveys should be fair and transparent.
He said that for maintenance of tranquility in environment and assistance of affectees, we would have to work sincerely. He said he extended full co-operation to both committees in this regard. The DCO called for constitution of a publicity committee and said that a computerised counter would be opened at Sarhad Chamber for this purpose. Through the counter the affectees would be provided farms, which would be returned after proving sufficient information.
He directed the publicity committee to complete survey and release advertisements to print and electronic media within a period of seven days. Both committees were directed to complete the survey within twenty days. The second meeting would be held at the end of the current month. The affectees would be given assistance after the approval of the committees, he said.
