Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Information Secretary Omar Sarfraz Cheema has on Tuesday advised the PML-N leadership to take some constructive steps to help ease the food crises rather than resorting to political slogans.
Central Information Secretary said they (PML-N) should avoid announcements like made by Shahbaz Sharif that if Nawaz Sharif becomes the Prime Minister, he will provide 'roti' at two rupees all over Pakistan, with the national exchequer bearing the costs of the exercise.
If they are so concerned about the people of Pakistan, why don't they set an example by supplying sugar from their own sugar mills at subsidised rates to help reduce the price rates, he questioned. "If at all they had to imitate PTI's programme of providing subsidised roti to the downtrodden masses, they should have had generated resources from Bait-ul-Maal or through public donations rather than putting burden on the provincial kitty.
Thanks to their mismanagement and ill-conceived policies, Cheema maintained, the incumbents have already 'sunk Punjab neck deep' into debt, now merely to extract cheap political mileage, they want to sink Pakistan into the same morass," he concluded.
