Over one million children to be administered polio vaccines

The 3-day polio campaign will start from 15 to 17 February during which more than 1.199 million children of under 5-year age would be administered polio vaccine in the district. This was informed during a meeting of District Polio Eradication Committee held here at DCO's office committee room with DCO Saeed Wahlah in the chair.
The meeting was informed that 2725 teams of health department would perform duty out of which 2204 mobile teams would visit door-to-door for administering the polio vaccine drops. DCO directed the officers of concerned department that co-ordinated efforts should be mobilised to make anti-polio campaign a success.
He said that the role of concerned department was an extra ordinary importance for making the Pakistan polio free. He stressed the health department to get access each and every child of under 5-year age in the district for ensuring 100 percent coverage with regards to anti-polio campaign.
DO Health Dr Rana Imran Ali Khan briefed the meeting and said that comprehensive plan had been chalked out for the next 3 days anti-polio campaign. He informed that 440 area incharges and 75 zonal supervisors had been assigned duties for monitoring the campaign. Among others the meeting was also attended by EDO Health Dr Captain Muhammad Siddique, EDO Finance Iqbal Hussain, DOC Liaqat Ali Chatha, SP Admn Robin Yamin, District Support Officer PRSP Syed Irshad Hussain and Rotary Club representative Mubashar Butt attended the meeting.
