The profit after tax of Nestle Pakistan has increased to Rs 3.005 billion in the year ended December 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 1.552 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2008. The company's earning per share has surged to Rs 66.27 in the period under review against Rs 34.24 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Tuesday recommended a final cash dividend for the year at Rs 2.00 per share, ie, 20 percent. This is in addition to interim dividends already paid at Rs 40.00 per share ie 400 percent. According to the financial results, the company's net sales increased to Rs 41.155 billion in the year 2009 against Rs 34.183 billion in the year 2008. The cost of goods sold increased to Rs 29.256 billion against Rs 25.231 billion. The company's before tax profit increased to Rs 4.186 billion in 2009 against Rs 2.227 billion recorded in 2008.
