Petroleum prices likely to decrease in March: Kaira

Federal Information Minister, Qamar Zaman Kaira has hoped that prices of petroleum products would decrease next month in accordance with international trends. Responding to calls by people from across the country in a programme of the Radio Pakistan the Minister said the Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) respected the Supreme Court's decisions and gave assurance that the same would be implemented.
He said that if the Supreme Court felt at any stage that its decisions were not implemented according to their spirit, it had a set course to convey its message to the government. About welfare of labour class, the Minister agreed that the labour class has to suffer in the country like elsewhere due to increase in petroleum prices and price hike. He said the PPP government has always taken steps for the welfare of labourers. Salaries of the government employees would be increased as per recommendations of the pay and pension committee, he added.
