Soyabean futures rose at the Chicago Board of Trade early on Wednesday amid technical buying and short covering as expectations of a large crop in South America have sparked a sharp decline during the past month, traders said.
At 9:44 am CST (1544 GMT), CBOT March soyabeans were up 6 cents at $9.30-1/2 a bushel, but had risen as high as $9.36-1/2 in early trade. Volume was light early in the session and choppy trade was still expected throughout the day, a trader said. March corn down 2 cents at $3.56-1/2 a bushel.
