Motorway police arrest three wood thieves

National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-5 Central has arrested three members of tree (wood) thieves' gang including the ringleader and recovered stolen wood on national highway near Lodhran. In a separate event NH&MP foiled an attempt of robbery near Jumber and recovered heavy machinery.
According to details NH&MP patrolling officers Kamran Rasool and Muhammed Yasin during patrolling observed suspicious movements in the area and they started hooters (Siren). Three persons after hearing siren tried to flee from the scene but the NH&MP officers chased suspects and successfully managed to arrested all three including their ringleader Kaleem Ahmed, Bilal and Qasim. On searching, the location NH&MP officers recovered expensive wood in large quantity.
The arrested criminal revealed in initial investigation that they were running a professional gang of tree stealing and had made thousands of successful attempts. They were carrying this wood to sell out in Multan. On the instructions of sector commander/SSP Ghulaam Jaffer arrested criminals along with wood handed over to local police for further investigation.
Meanwhile, NH&MP Patrolling Officers Rana Imtiaz and Iqbal Hashmi were routine patrolling duty near Jumber when a mill security guard told them that a group of dacoits were trying to loot people in a locality adjacent to national highways. The officers rushed to the scene. Upon seeing them, the dacoits opened fire and on retaliation, the dacoits fled from the scene by taking the advantage of darkness and left heavy expensive machinery. The recovered equipment handed over to local police for further investigations.
