UAE and China among several countries to import Pakistani marble

China and United Arab Emirates are among several countries of the world that have shown interest to import marble from Pakistan. According to a press release issued here on Friday by Pakistan Stone Development Company, importers from these countries have particularly shown interest in importing square marble blocks from Pakistan.
"Following the offer by PASDEC for the sale of square and other marble extracted from Balochistan, several countries have offered the company good prices for their sale," the press release added. The statement said that Dubai and China have shown interest in purchasing regular marble blocks adding that prices of these blocks is about ten times higher than that of the irregular ones.
The press release said that Pakistan was having rich marble resources, located in Balochistan, FATA, NWFP, Punjab as well as in Northern Areas. PASDEC and Ministry of Industries and Production have already taken several measures to promote marble industry of the country and have launched several projects for its development.
