DCO Karachi, Javed Hanif Khan on Wednesday held a meeting with Ulema and religious leaders, belonging to various schools of thought and reviewed the arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi functions, mafahil and processions.
It was decided that all the concerned departments of City Government, all municipal administrations, KESC, Water Board and other civic organisations will maintain complete liaison with Ulema and religious leaders and solve the problems with the co-operation and consultation.
It was decided that loadshedding will not be resorted to at procession routes and places of Milad mahafil. DCO directed all the Municipal officers to ensure installation of street lights along procession routes, sanitation arrangements and provision of other necessary municipal facilities.
He asked them to visit procession routes and places of mahafil along with ulema and religious leaders to inspect cleanliness and other arrangements. The meeting decided that special staff will be deputed at CDGL Complaint Center 1339 for redressal of complaints and concerned officials were directed to immediately resolve complaints received at 1339.
On the occasion, the Ulema and religious leaders put forth their suggestions for solving various civic problems. DCO directed the EDO, Works and Services to ensure immediate repair of damaged roads and procession routes. It was pointed out that DIG, Traffic will make special traffic arrangements on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
