The profit after tax of DG Khan Cement has increased to Rs 469.970 million in half-year period ended December 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 127.048 million earned in the corresponding period in 2008. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Wednesday declared that the company's earning per share has increased to Rs 1.54 in the period under review against Re. 0.42 in the same period of last year.
According to the financial results, the company's net sales declined to Rs 7.958 billion in this period against Rs 8.652 billion in the same period of previous year. The cost of goods sold increased to Rs 6.253 billion against Rs 6.058 billion. The company registered Rs 475.065 million as profit before tax in the half year period in 2009 against before tax loss of Rs 245.952 million recorded in the same period in 2008.
