Role of women in literature, poetry highlighted

The Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs, Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, has highlighted the role of women towards literature especially poetry. He was speaking as chief guest at the Inter-Faculty Poetry Competition here on Wednesday. The contest was held at the Government College for Women, Frere Road.
The Minister was of the view that these days there is a decline in women's interest towards poetry. He said that attention should be paid towards this aspect as poetess has a lot of contributions in this field. Subzwari said that women have a significant role towards literature. Sindh Secretary Youth Affairs, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, and Director Youth Affairs Sindh, Khurshid Ali Shaikh, also spoke on the occasion.
Syeda Shahla Saleem of the Government D.J. Science College, was declared first in the competition. She was awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000. Ms Fazila of Defence Authority College remained second and got Rs 10,000 as prize. The third position went to Ms Aaihsa Saleem of Government D.J. Science College and she was given a cash prize of Rs 5,000. The 20 contestants were given certificates of commendation and prize of Rs 1,000 each.
