US MIDDAY: sugar tumbles

Summaries of the ICE Futures US cocoa, coffee and sugar markets, early on Wednesday. May arabica coffee contract fell 0.95 cent to $1.3410 per lb at 11:08 am EST (1608 GMT). Session range from $1.3360 to $1.3565. Arabica coffee moved down in an inside day, pressured by investor selling, the strong dollar and light March/May spreading, said brokers.
March raw sugar contract dropped 1.04 cents, or 3.8 percent, to 26.32 cents per lb at 11:09 am. Trading range from 26.12 to 27.43 cents. Sugar sank on heavy trade-house selling, inching closer to key support at 26 cents, said dealers. Benchmark May cocoa contract fell $68 to $3,095 per tonne at 11:10 am. Trading band from $3,062 to $3,175. US cocoa futures fell on profit-taking and the weak pound against the dollar, said traders.
