Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N)'s Central Senior Vice President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi on Thursday welcomed the government's decision to appoint judges in the light of recommendations made by Chief Justice of Pakistan. Talking to journalists here on Thursday he said that his party had already advised the government not to start confrontation with the judiciary.
Hashmi said the crisis, which besieged the whole nation for five days, has finally ended. The government gave unnecessary remarks against the judiciary but such actions should be avoided in the future, he said. He maintained that the implementation of Charter of Democracy (CoD) would have saved Pakistan from the trouble it was facing.
"I do not want to take premiership from Prime Minister," he said. In Bhurban Declaration, Hashmi reminded that the PML-N had told the PPP that, "We don't need ministries but want restoration of judges, abolition of 17th Constitutional Amendment and implementation of CoD." The country is facing severe problems, including unemployment, price-hike, poverty, lawlessness and corruption, he said.
He said there was a dire need to provide justice to the people of the country. The government had failed to solve the problems of the country, he added. Zardari was not sincere in repealing the 17th Amendment, adding that he made promises on several occasions to repeal black laws. The government had entered into its third year but neither the 17th Amendment has been abolished nor COD implemented. "I love the people of Sindh and Balochistan. I have special affiliation with the people of these two provinces," he said.
