Multan Sultans, the new franchise of Pakistan Super League (PSL), are likely to clinch veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik as their captain.
Shoaib Malik, who played for Karachi Kings in the first two seasons of the league, was released by the team on Thursday.
Local media reports suggest, with Malik being released by the Kings, the veteran all-rounder is now likely to join Wasim Akram’s Sultans as captain.
Earlier, it was reported that Sultans were aiming to sign Mohammad Hafeez as their captain.
However, Sultans dream of singing Hafeez were shattered when Zalmi retained the all-rounder on October 5.
Moreover, Mohammad Irfan, released by Islamabad United, is likely to lead the attack for Sultans with former Peshawar Zalmi pacer Juniad Khan.
With Sultans have just four days left to announce their picks, they have plenty of good options available for selection.
