Death anniversary of Raja Maqsood observed

The 5th death anniversary of Raja Maqsood Ahmed Khan, former Commissioner of AJK was observed here on Monday with full respect and honour. AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider was the chief guest at a mammoth congregation held in this connection at Late Raja Maqsood's native village Bandala, Samani valley, Bhimber district Monday morning to observe the death anniversary which was also attended by thousands of people from all sections of the society.
The ceremony was arranged by Raja Azhar Iqbal, Divisional Chief Press Information Department AJK government, Mirpur division and nephew of Late Raja Maqsood besides other admirers of the former commissioner. Social and political workers, journalists, lawyers, businessmen and workers of the Kashmir freedom movement visited the grave of the deceased at his ancestral forward-area village Bandala, close to this side of the line of control in Samani valley of Bhimbher district and placed floral wreaths and prayed for the departed soul.
Besides the host-Divisional Director Information AJK government Raja Azhar Iqbal, the ceremony was also addressed among others by several serving and retired senior officials of the AJK government including the former colleagues of the late Raja Maqsood Ahmed Khan.
The speakers including AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider paid glorious tributes to Late Raja Maqsood for his remarkable and fair services to the humanity, being a public servant and the social worker during the period of his job as the most honest and dutiful officer in various parts of AJK.
The speakers paid glorious tributes to the deceased for his remarkable services in various responsible positions in the state revenue department, being the most honest officer besides promoting healthy a society side by side serving the sick humanity in the area.
The speakers said that the best way to pay homage to the Late Raja Maqsood Ahmed Khan is to follow his footsteps through focusing all the attention to serve the people without any discrimination and with a fair and honest approach. At the end of the ceremony, Fateha was offered for the departed soul. Earlier, Quran Khuwani was also held.
