Civil defence's manifold importance highlighted

DCO/Controller District Civil Defence Organisation Saeed Wahlah has said that the need and importance of civil defence had become manifold in present scenario of security threats and unforeseen natural clamities. He said that elaborated measures were being taken to equip the civil defence organisation with the latest and modern equipment and machinery to carryout the rescue activities in case of any emergency and incidents.
He was addressing a civil defence seminar, which was organised by the joint collaboration of federal civil defence training school and district office of civil defence at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium to mark the civil defence day. The DCO informed that modern and explosive detectors machine had been provided to the district civil defence organisation besides providing other equipment and technical facilities for performing proper mechanical duties by the civil defence rescuers.
He appreciated the services and role of the volunteers attached with civil defence organisation and said they had discharged services with commitment and devotion whenever they were called for duties in Muharramul Haram and other occasions for security. He assured that more funds would be provided in revised budget and it was honour for this civil defence organisation as it possessed unique facilities which was trend set for the other districts.
VC GC University Dr Shahid Mehmud highlighted the benefits and importance of the civil defence and stressed the need for expanding the scope of civil defence training on modern lines to the students in educational institutions to create sentiments of extending volunteers services for the cause of suffering humanity.
Chief Warden/MPA Major R Abdul Rehman Rana said that we were in war like situation that every time due to the problems of terrorism and the dangers confronted to the human life so we should ready to defence for all in all time. He said that the recruitment process of volutnteers would continue in every year and post wardens were being made modern as regards to the services for the humanity.
He claimed that Faisalabad Civil Defence Organisation was leading one in the province as it had been equipped with the latest machinery and technology. Principal Govt College for Women D Type Colony Professor Dr Saeeda Risham, Qari Sohaib Ahmad of Madina University Saudi Arabia also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of the training of the civil defence.
DOC Liaqat Ali Chatha, Commandant Civil Defence Training School Shaheenzad Khan Khatak, CDOs Javed Imdad, Rana Riasat Ali Khan, Post Wardens, other officers, volunteers, students and citizens belonging to different walks of life were present on the occasion.
