After victory in the bye-election in NA-55-Rawalpindi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif on Monday started spearheading election campaign for his party candidate Mohammad Pervaiz Malik in NA-123 Lahore. Nawaz's public address in NA-123 infused a new spirit among supporters.
Addressing the gathering, the PML-N Quaid vowed to bring progress and prosperity in the country. He said a revolution is knocking at the door of Pakistani nation who wants end to politics of hypocrisy once and for all. Criticising former President Pervez Musharraf, Nawaz said he (Musharraf) has no courage to return to the country.
He said, "As and when the country is set for a take off, a general comes and takes over the country. Through this act, the generals had not only shown disloyalty to their profession but also with the army as a whole." He said those who had shown loyalty to an adventurer cannot be loyal to the country.
Nawaz said he had joined hands with Asif Ali Zardari with complete sincerity but he (Zardari) allowed giving guard of honour to a person who got arrested judges and violated law and the Constitution. He said he had never asked for any favour from President Asif Ali Zardari. "We just want supremacy of parliament, rule of law, independence of judiciary, resolution of public problems and dignity and honour for the country as well as its people," he said.
The PML-N Quaid without naming any politician said they had shown loyalty to a dictator but despite their support, the violator of the Constitution had to flee home. He said there should be no room in politics for those who change their loyalties.
Nawaz said we consider politics as worship and that was why we are struggling for a just cause so as to secure future for coming generations. He said when he was prime minister he had turned down UK's offer of $5 billion and conducted atomic explosions but today rulers are pressing foreigners for just $2 billion.
