The Lahore Electricity Supply Co (Lesco) charged an amount of Rs 3000 from the concerned Municipal Administration for alleged theft of electricity in public meeting of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the premises of Schazoo Laboratories on Monday night.
According to the Lesco spokesman, the TMO Data Ganj Baksh Town had installed four 500 Watts search lights directly from L.T. Line on emergent basis without informing Lesco due to the security reasons for VVIP movement. The LESCO also suspended Hasnain Mehdi, Line Superintendent of Engineering University Sub-Division, for showing negligence in his official duties Electricity for other lights and sound system of the PML-N meeting was supplied through a power metre, thus the question of power pilferage does not arise, he added.
