Ban on third time premiership: LHC adjourns hearing of petition till March 8

A five member full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Tuesday adjourned to March 08 the hearing of a constitutional petition challenging the embargo on holding third time the public office of the prime minister or chief minister. Bench headed by Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, deferred the hearing when a deputy attorney general informed the court that attorney general of Pakistan was in Quetta to plead some important cases.
Previously, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar was heading the bench but that bench was dissolved after his elevation to the Supreme Court. Initially, Justice Khosa admitting the petition for regular and referred the case to Chief Justice on December 04 last for constitution of a larger bench to decide the matter.
