Administrator, City District Government Karachi (CDGK), Fazlur Rehman has directed the revenue officers having powers of first class magistrates to take immediate action against milk sellers indulged in overcharging. After taking the charge of administrator, he took notice of the increasing milk prices and directed the magistrate to control the prices of the commodity.
According to sources, following the directives, the magistrates on Tuesday held 82 milk sellers for overcharging and imposed fine of Rs 1,12, 000. Besides, the City Government warned that strict action would be taken against unilateral increase in the price of fresh milk that would include huge fines also.
On the other hand, the DCO/Administrator directed the executive district officers (EDOs) of various departments and other concerned officers to personally monitor the pace of work on all ongoing development projects and ensure hurdle-free execution of work. He said that the development process must be carried on, calling for ensuring timely completion of development projects.
He instructed EDO Revenue to convene a meeting of all officers and directed them to take necessary measures to achieve the targets. Earlier, according to official sources at CDGK, former City Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal formally handed over the official residence (nazim house) and keys of vehicle used by him as city nazim to Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman.
The Ex-City Nazim Mustafa Kamal and Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman met at nazim house on Tuesday wherein they discussed matters of mutual interest. The Ex-City Nazim on this occasion handed over the keys of vehicles and city nazim house to administrator Karachi.
He said though he had vacated official residence and stopped using official vehicle right on the day when the notification of dissolution of district government was issued and he just had to formally hand over the key of vehicle and official residence to administrator Karachi. The administrator gave the key of vehicle formerly used by city nazim to EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam.
