Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that the government is committed to ensure the basic needs of life and food security to the people. He further said that fulfilment of basic amenities of life is a prerequisite to a prosperous future.
The Prime Minister said this while talking to Minister for Labour and Manpower Syed Khursheed Shah, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister for Food and Agriculture Nazar Gondal and Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Naveed Qamar who met him at Prime Minister's House on Wednesday evening. The Prime Minister urged the Ministry of Agriculture to make effective policies to facilitate the farmers and help them learn the modern cultivation techniques.
This will enable them to increase per acre yield to overcome the food crisis. Prime Minister also urged Syed Khursheed Shah and Naveed Qamar to take on board the relevant ministries to formulate effective policies to attract local as well as foreign investors in projects in fields of energy, oil and gas, fertilisers, petrochemicals and infrastructure. The ministers apprised the Prime Minister of the progress of the ongoing National projects under their respective Ministries.-PR
