Newly elected PCGA Chairman assumes charge

The newly elected Chairman of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) Haji Muhammad Akram, Vice Chairman (north zone) Haji Hafeez-ullah Anwar, and Vice Chairman (south zone) Mahesh Kumar took charge of their duties. The General Body of PCGA, which is a supreme authority, will endorse the election results on March 13.
The elections were held under the supervision of Election Committee headed by Abdul Rasheed Khan. Expressing views on his election, Haji Muhammad Akram said the ginners' community had reposed confidence in his leadership and he would not betray them. "I shall perform my duties in the larger national as well as ginners' interest, he said adding, "we would try our utmost to improve the ginning quality of cotton to meet the international standards."
Thirty members were elected for the executive committee of PCGA namely Muhammad Javed Iqbal, Rana Muhammad Saleem, Muhammad Hafeez, Khalid Mehmood, Haji Muhammad Akram, Haji Shehzad Ali Khan, Tariq Amir khan, Dr Javed Iqbal, Mian Shahbaz, Malik Tufail, Malik Zafar Iqbal, Masood Arif, Muhammad Azam, Muhammad Asim Saeed, Rao Sadaruddin, Chaudhry Khalid Rafiq, Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Dr Asar Das, Khalil Ahmed, Mahesh Kumar, Seth Gopal Das, Arjan Das, Lal Chand, Mian Rashid Mehmood, Chaudhry Masood, A Majeed, Shaikh Abbas Raza, Seth Muhammad Arshad, Shaikh Iftikhar Ahmed, Ghulam Shabbir and Mian Muhammad Amir Shahbaz.
