Sindh Minister for Labour, Ameer Nawab Khan said that providing labour with their due rights and basic facilities are included in the policy of the government. Speaking to a delegation of People's Employees Union, Cotton Export Corporation of Pakistan at his office here on Friday Ameer Nawab said that the previous governments have deprived labour of their constitutional rights and added that such injustice would not be repeated this time.
He said the labour and workers would be provided with justice. "Negotiations would be conducted with those organisations where labour and workers are facing problems whereas Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) and Labour Department would focus solving labour issues on prior basis", he stated.
Minister further said that all legal privileges meant for workers would be implemented. "The government is making efforts for solution of labour issues and such preparations are being made that would facilitate workers", he added. The members of delegation informed Ameer Nawab of their problems and said that some 339 employees were retrenched in 1998 and the government at that time did not let them file any appeal in the court. They requested government for solution of their problem.
