Ex-Zila Nazim Badin Kamal Khan Chang has urged upon the philanthropists especially the MNAs & MPAs to adopt neglected schools and to ensure provision of facilities and qualitative education in their respective areas.
This he observed while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Government Primary School building constructed by British Petroleum (BP) Pakistan under its corporate social responsibilities at the village of Qadir Bux Chang, District Tando Mohammad Khan, on Friday as the chief guest.
Addressing a large gathering, the ex-Nazim said BP Pakistan has done a good job by providing health, educational and employment opportunities to the inhabitants at their concession areas. He further said BP Pakistan has set an example for philanthropists, opinion leaders and public representatives and even the community as a whole to come forward, give ownership to the existing schools and also take steps ahead for counselling with the parents and teachers to arrest drop out ratio of students and ensure qualitative education at the nearby educational institutions.
He stressed that a clear vision with commitment was essentially required to education mangers for which total revamping and re-structuring of education system is needed. Speaking on this occasion, Aamir Dawoodpota from BP Pakistan management in his speech said that the school building has been constructed at village Qadir Bux adjacent to Leghari Oil Field at the cost of Rs 2.62 million and BP has also provided requisite school furniture under request from the local community.
He informed that earlier, this primary school was being operated out of a hutment with no concrete structure without furniture and other necessary amenities. Dawoodpota said that as part of its community development program, BP Pakistan has supported numerous initiatives in district Tando Mohammad Khan in health, education, income generation and technical training. Earlier, the chief guest Kamal Khan Chang and Aamir Dawoodpota jointly inaugurated the school building by unveiling the plaque. They informed at these moments that the school has received the enrolment of 53 students and the number of enrolment is increasing.
