Government to release funds for uplift projects

07 Mar, 2010

The Punjab government has decided to release the frozen development funds after the appointment of town administrators and has also decided to start work on 40 mega projects. Relevant members of National Assembly would monitor the development projects in their areas.
The provincial government has sought details about the frozen funds from all 6 administrators of Shershah, Shah Runk-i-Alam, Mumtazabad, Bosan, Shujabad and Jalalpur pirwala and also directed them to propose new projects. The developing projects include construction of bridges, water supply scheme, school boundaries, streets and sewerage system. It is pertinent to mention that the said funds had been halted for the last 26 months as PML-N had stopped the release after coming into power.
