Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) criticised Prime Minister Gilani for his decision to deliver monthly radio speech, saying that it would not change the fate of the poor people, rooting out poverty, unemployment and social injustice. Prime Minister Gilani delivered radio speech on Friday and decided to continue the practice on monthly basis to keep the nation aware about the performance of the government.
Talking to Business Recorder, PML-N spokesman Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that it is need of the hour to take practical steps to give immediate relief to the poverty-stricken people rather than delivering speeches on media.
"A number of statements are issued daily with the promises to heal the wounds of the masses, but no change is seen in the lives of poor people and the recent Prime Minister's speech would be yet another sweet pill to swallow," he maintained. Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada said that it is a good move to apprise the nation about the policies of the government. Rulers must inform the nation about the foreign policy, which has great importance.
