'Tour de Pakistan' 6th phase kicks off

The 6th phase of 15th "Tour de Pakistan" kicked off Sunday from Multan to Bahawalpur. Afghan cyclist Imtiaz Hasan won the 5th stage from Sahiwal to Multan by crossing the distance in 4 hours, 28 minutes and 37 seconds. The 5th leg of Tour de Pakistan was 154 kilometres while the present leg consists of 90 kilometres to Bahawalpur.
Wapda's Zahid Gulfam, who has overall performed well, followed the Afghan winner. Earlier, it was the Afghan cyclist, who won the fourth stage from Lahore to Sahiwal in 4 hours, 12 minutes and 56 seconds. Some 47 cyclists participated in the race from Bagh-e-Jinnah and traversed 160 kilometres to Sahiwal. Sui Southern's Asif Junior was the runner up followed by Wapda's Owais Aslam at 3rd position. The cyclists will run totally 1685 kilometres to the finish line at Quaid's mausoleum in Karachi on March 13.
