Administrator expects early completion of development projects

Administrator City District Government Karachi (CDGK) Fazlur Rehman has said that two of the under construction flyovers of corridor-IV would be opened for vehicular traffic by the end of April. The flyovers at Shaheed-e-Millat Expressway Mehmoodabad Section and Saddar to Jinnah Hospital would be completed by that time.
He expressed these views during inspection of development works of both flyovers on Monday. EDO Works & Services Rasheed Mughal who accompanied him on the visit informed that the work on both these projects was being performed on round the clock basis and already over 60 percent work has been completed.
Administrator city government directed him to ensure uninterrupted flow of traffic around the projects. Adding that the projects hold much importance for the city and their early completion would solve traffic problems to a greater extent in the key areas. He said that the ongoing development works should not face any delay or hurdle and must be carried out round the clock as any halt in the process would not be good for the city or the country.
City government will take all measures to carry on work on development projects, including hurdle free provision of funding so that they could complete on time. Administrator CDGK also directed EDO (W&S) to inspect work on development projects in night hours also. He said that he would also visit the projects.
Meanwhile, Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman also directed EDO Transport & Communication to speed up work on the construction of pedestrian bridges currently underway in different areas of the city. He also directed to workout plan for construction of more such bridges, which would provide convenience to people in crossing roads especially at newly constructed corridors and at other busy junctions.-PR
