Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that by fanning sectarian sentiments, Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer wants to undermine the unity among people against terrorism but he will not succeed in his designs.
Commenting on the recent statements of Governor Punjab, Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa reminded that the candidates, who are contesting the by-election in Jhang, are the same persons who had participated in February 2008 elections with the permission of the government. He said that Salmaan Taseer was a caretaker minister at that time and the right hand man of the military dictator. He asked Governor why these persons were allowed to take part in the elections?
He said not only that but in 2002, Governor Salmaan Taseer's political mentor, General Musharraf and for the purpose of electing of the prime minister of his choice, Maulana Azam Tariq was released from the jail so that he could cast his vote. He said that it is the only incident of its kind in the history of the country.
