Four sentenced to 25 years in prison for burying women alive

Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced four accused to 25 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 each on Tuesday. The women were buried alive two years back in Goth Gorang, 80 kilometres from Usta Mohammad city of Jafferabad district for alleged fornication, private news channel reported.
Human rights leaders brought the incident to limelight, after which a case was registered in Kot Khan area of Naseerabad. Taking notice of the incident, the Balochistan High Court (BHC) ordered police to immediately arrest the culprits involved in the incident.
The police arrested all 20 persons nominated in the FIR within a year. Anti-Terror Court of Naseerabad/Jaferabad's hearing the case announced the verdict on Tuesday. Judge Muhammed Alim Mengal delivered the verdict after elaborate proceedings of the case.
According to the verdict, Ghaus Bux, Sardar Allah Bux, Muhammed Arif and Rehmatullah were sentenced to 25-year imprisonment with fine of Rs 100,000 each. Sixteen persons have been acquitted as no evidence was found against them.
