Corps commanders discuss anti-militants operation, reshuffle in military hierarchy

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvaiz Kayani has expressed satisfaction over the performance of Pakistan Army in war against terror in restive tribal areas against Taliban and al Qaeda-linked militants.
"We need to achieve professional excellence to respond to future challenges, in a befitting manner", General Kayani said while addressing the 127th Corps Commanders Conference held here at General Headquarters of Pakistan Army on Tuesday.
The top military leadership met during the 127th Corps Commanders' Conference held here at General Headquarters of Pakistan Army with General Ashfaq Parvaiz Kayani in the chair. The conference was a regular monthly get-together of military leadership. A comprehensive overview of various professional matters of the Army was presented during the conference. The participants showed their satisfaction over the state of operational preparedness of the Army.
General Kayani also lauded the professional competence demonstrated by field formations during recently held field and firing exercises, saying that Pakistan Army is fully capable of facing any challenge. The military top brass discussed the reshuffle in military hierarchy, besides the matters related to the challenges Pakistan is facing due to terrorism and on-going military operation in South Waziristan.
The top military leadership also discussed top level transfers and appointments in the military. They discussed internal security, the war against terrorism and the regional situation. General Kayani briefed the commanders about his visit abroad and his meetings with the top military officials of various countries. The conference reviewed the success of the military operation in Bajaur tribal region and various aspects of the military exercises of Pak Army.
