Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, with a view to overcoming the shortage of Specialist Doctors, has directed the Health Department to appoint immediately 277 Specialists for DHQ and THQ hospitals under Punjab Health Sector Reforms Programme.
The Secretary Health Punjab, Fawad Hassan Fawad, discloses this here on Wednesday. He said that District Headquarters (DHQs) as well as Tehsil Headquarters (THQs) hospitals were short of Paediatricians, Gynaecologists and Anaesthetics.
Secretary Health told that Chief Minister has directed to appoint doctors of these specialties. He said that 11 posts of Paediatricians in DHQ and 23 in THQ Hospitals, 54 vacancies of Gynaecologists in DHQ and 113 in THQ and 24 posts of Anaesthetics in DHQ and 52 in THQ Hospitals would be filled through Adhoc appointments, and these specialists would be paid BS Grade 18 along with special allowance up to Rs 300,00.
