Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has urged the assembly members to maintain a close contact with the people and utilise all their energies for the solution of their problems. He was talking to assembly members belonging to various districts at Chief Minister's Secretariat, here on Thursday.
The parliamentarians apprised the Chief Minister of the pace of implementation of ongoing development projects in their respective areas. He said that the politics of PML-N is aimed at service to the people and it is playing an effective role for strengthening of democracy, upholding of democratic norms and stability of institutions.
He said that development funds were looted ruthlessly in the dictatorial rule and had these resources been spent on the welfare of the masses, situation would have been different. He said that the present government has diverted national resources to the welfare of the people and development projects are being executed in backward and far-flung areas on priority basis.
He said that corruption and misappropriation of funds have been completely checked and timely and quality completion of all development projects is being ensured. He said that third-party audit has been made compulsory for ensuring transparency in the execution of the development projects. He said that Shalimar Interchange, Sagian Bridge, Lahore Ring Road Package-6, IT labs and other development projects are a shining example of timely and quality completion of uplift projects in a transparent manner.
He said that elimination of poverty, ignorance and unemployment as well as provision of justice to the masses is the mission of the government and all out efforts will be made for its achievement. Those who met the Chief Minister included Abdul Majeed Khan-e-Khanan Khail, Sardar Muhammad Afzal, Haji Ghulam Jaafar Sargana, Mian Ghulam Sarwar and Sheikh Allauddin.
