Industrial activity remains normal despite strike call

14 Mar, 2010

Production activity in the five industrial estates of the city remained normal on Saturday and there was no impact of the strike call given by Tehreek Tahafuz-i-Khatame Nabuat, Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam (JUI) and supported by Jamaat-i-Islami for Saturday.
Citizens of the city were fearing a backlash on Friday, owing to the killing of religious scholars Mufti Saeed Ahmed Jalalpuri, his 3 associates and a son of Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Nadeem in two different incidents in Nazimabad and Gulzar-i-Hijri on Thursday. Industrialists said although there was thin pubic transport, still, the attendance was normal as the workers managed to report on duty.
