Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has ordered arrest of sub inspector and four constables involved in the death of Rizwan Ali due to police torture in Klaske, Gujranwala. The Chief Minister during the meeting with the parents of the deceased at Chief Minister Secretariat here on Saturday directed the authorities present on the occasion to immediately arrest the criminals and ordered that the case be tried in the special court.
It was worth mentioning that late Rizwan had to pay Rs 10,000 only to a resident of the area, namely Irfan and police took him into illegal custody on his request and tortured him brutally which resulted in his death. The Chief Minister said that such incidents were a stigma on the face of police and the senior police officers should fulfil their responsibilities to check such incidents.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif assured the parents of the deceased that murderers of his son would not escape punishment. He also gave a financial assistance of Rs 500,000 to the parents of late Rizwan Ali for getting vacated their mortgaged house and their treatment. He announced to provide a job to Ehsan Ali, younger brother of the deceased in Punjab government while his other mentally retarded brother would be treated on government expenses.
